HCDC provides tenant counseling to individuals experiencing rental delinquency to help avoid eviction. For prospective renters, HCDC provides assistance and tenant counseling covering HUD’s guidelines and regulations for landlords and tenants. In addition, we provide housing selection assistance, review of leases, review of financial status, advice on money management, and pre-occupancy counseling on Fair Housing Laws and lease agreements. For post-occupancy, HCDC provides an initial assessment in determining the cause of any problems, assistance developing financial plans, and rights and responsibilities counseling. When eviction is unavoidable, we continue to assist clients in obtaining timely alternative housing and preventing homelessness.
