Youth Enrichment

Marketable Skills

We provide computer training that teaches children how to utilize the internet as a powerful learning tool for school projects or reports. They also receive computer time to pursue extracurricular interests, learn general computer skills, and maintain computer competence which will benefit them throughout their lives.

HCDC also provides tutoring to assist school-children with reading skills and help them study for the Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) for the Clarke County school district. These services are made possible with the help of concerned and capable volunteers from the University of Georgia and surrounding communities.

With support from local individuals and business partners, HCDC provides community development services for underprivileged children, including field trips to local cultural and educational venues which help to motivate them to do well in school and introduce them to the rich culture of the Classic City.

The Holiday Season is a time of joy, but it is also a poignant reminder that many children will not have a Merry Christmas without help from the community. HCDC is proud to provide a Christmas gift program for these children.

With the generous financial support of Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant and local donors, we are able to brighten the lives of over two hundred children each Christmas. HCDC is truly thankful to all of our supporters who make this very special service possible.
